Role overview

The Occupational Therapist will deliver high-quality, evidence-based services to children, youth, and families. This role is ideal for a clinician who values autonomy, flexibility, and meaningful therapeutic relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide direct OT intervention for functional, sensory, motor, and daily-living goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and professional communication
  • Deliver services in various settings as needed

Qualifications

  • Registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with the provincial regulatory body
  • Experience in pediatrics, sensory processing, neurodiversity, or developmental delays
  • Ability to work independently as a contractor
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel (if required)

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia (hybrid: community and virtual)
Employment type: Flexible, Independent Therapist
Compensation: $70–$80/hour (based on experience)

What you'll be doing

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments using both standardized and informal tools
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client
  • Support clients with a wide range of needs, including speech and language disorders, social communication challenges, cognitive-communication difficulties, swallowing disorders, and voice disorders
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team (OTs, SLPs, and BCBAs) to provide holistic, family-centered care
  • Teach and coach families to support skill development beyond therapy sessions
  • Participate in weekly professional development and monthly team meetings
  • Contribute to community education and outreach initiatives

What you bring to the team

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registered and in good standing with NSRASLP
  • Experience working with children and adults, including individuals with complex needs
  • Strong foundation in assessing and treating communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan
  • Interest or experience working with neurodivergent populations using a trauma-informed approach
  • Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Comfort with technology and willingness to learn platforms such as JaneApp
  • Valid driver's license, clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry

Bonus assets: fluency in French, Arabic, or Cantonese to better support our diverse community.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia (hybrid: community and virtual)

What you'll be doing

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioural assessments (e.g., functional behaviour assessments)
  • Develop and oversee individualized behaviour intervention plans
  • Provide direct and indirect ABA services across settings (home, community, virtual)
  • Supervise and mentor behaviour technicians and junior staff, as applicable
  • Collaborate closely with OTs, SLPs, and other professionals to support whole-family care
  • Train and coach caregivers to implement strategies consistently across environments
  • Monitor client progress, analyze data, and adjust programming as needed
  • Participate in weekly professional development and monthly team meetings, and contribute to community outreach

What you bring to the team

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Experience working with children and/or adults with diverse and complex needs
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles, ethics, and evidence-based practices
  • Experience conducting assessments and developing behaviour plans
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, client- and family-centered care
  • Comfort with technology and willingness to learn tools such as JaneApp
  • Valid driver's license, clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry

Bonus assets: experience within multidisciplinary teams; trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approaches; fluency in French, Arabic, or Cantonese.
